Bruce(OR) 07-27-2012 07:15:57 97.115.39.253 Report to Moderator	Crusty, moss covered in spots, nasty looking TO-35 Split trans gave it away with a Howard offset tiller behind it. Sticker on it said engine and clutch problems. I looked no further. Fresh(?) oil oozing from the PTO housing and it came with a $1595 price tag. For 1/2 of that might be too much. I might go back just to take some pics. That would be machine #8 and I still have 3 or 4 to get fixed up and the current one (8N) to finish. The "35 will not be coming home with me. A Ford 600 something.... that has tire and tranny troubles...selectowhatever... I don't want it, so to be helpful I told all the old pisans that are into fords about it... when I mention selectotranny troubles... they all walk away. I suppose it will go to scrap- engine running like a top... but.... I saw a too nice '56 TO35 the other day.... is it OK to post stranger's stuff on the web? I guesso eh? Just NO monies to play in reply to Tony in Mass., 07-27-2012 20:28:25   Select-O-Speed trans had problems the first year. Ford warrantied all of them. The reputation never diminished. The Select-O-Speed is basically an automatic transmission and requires more than the average intelligence to repair it I would suppose. I was told by the Po that the SOS I have has no problems. He took the engine apart for "low power" with about 40 hours from a New Holland rebuild. (???) The engine is in unmarked disassembled parts and the block with tin is bolted to the front axle now allowing movement. I have not touched it since it came home with all my other problems this year. I did pick up a 55 gal drum to remove and pickle the engine hopefully sometime this year. Seeing that ugly '35 gave me a slight delusional fantasy. [Reply]  [No Email]

The standard gets a rattle can and no sand blast, getting sick of my toys.The 50 needs a front seal, the finish mower new wheels and blades,scraper, auger, and flail need parts, then theres the truck and cars,if i could buy everything at once the economy would instantly pick up. That machine giving me the select-o-speed transmission and the 45 hp diesel. That 881D kinda eliminated the dream of a "35. Other than to flip it.
