since i took off the gasoline tank of a TO-35.
any tips, pointers or suggestions on how to do it ???
many thanks.

The first thing is to drain or syphon all the fuel out. Your back and 'roids will thank you. I had mine off my FE35 a couple of weeks ago. A couple of bolts on the back come out and two on the front only need loosening. undo the gas line at the bowl. Lift the rear to clear the battery box and slide to the rear a little and lift off. Oh yeah, take the battery out. It would be a bummer to short the terminals with the tank as you slide it back. I might have missed a step or two but it isn't a big deal. TDF

just as two dogs said,

all I can add is this.

like a dog getting ready to lay down, know how they circle a few times before they lay down.

be sure you plan the trip with the tank, as its very Awkward to handle and have a good place to put the thing down once you clear the tractor with it.

again as he said,

The safety way is to take the battery off the tractor and place it on the other side of the shop as you may have some spilled gas or gas fumes around, no excuse to have a gas fire or explosion over just taking a Fergy gas tank off.

"In my shop, if it can go wrong, it will, 2X"

good luck and be safe.

as i have gotten older, i try to get a buddy to come help or use my motor lift, with it i have complete control of the lift and it will roll the tank to the storage area.
