I thought old military vehicles were going to solve all my problems too. Turns out all these things are 'crew served weapons' even if there are no weapons. Still needs a crew of people to operate, maintain and repair... an option which I never had. So I got into fergies. Rarely need a third hand, never mind a crew. And it is funny how little taxpayers are told about the fuel consuption of MV's... I suppose cause the army doesn't want to go back to mules and horses... or camels...

I wondered who was going to wash it after driving through that
mud but then they gave it a bath! I had a similar idea of machine for
low ground pressure slurry spreading....try driving it across a wet
slippery hillside, even the army knew not to try that on film!!!!!!!

I was around those in the Army just a bit. They're ungainly, underpowered, and just generally a pain in the neck IMHO.

I'd rather have a deuce and a half any day.
