Ferguson 7-AEO Sickle mower

Acquired a 7 ft ferguson/Detroit harvester sickle mower. After getting all the right brackets for it, mowed for about 1/2 hour and the U-joints started coming apart- I can't seem to locate the right one for that. Does anyone in internetland have a parts book or the new "weasler" number for the ujoints?
Thanks in advance for any help

Richard

They are a standard size and you should be able to get them. The usual cause of failure is if the joints are rattling when you lift or in work, that means they are running out of line and that needs to be sorted out as it isn't mounted or adjusted correctly. I will look later to see if I can find a number for you...John(UK)[email protected]

In this case it is that I am the first one to use this mower in 30+ yrs, just needs a little tlc to get back to par. I haven't been able to get a number on this from the dealer, so if you do have one it would be great

Thanks

Richard

I have a parts list for this mower and I also have the Operators Book as well If you want either of them you will have to email me at the address below and then I can send it to you.

Have you looked to see if New Holland still has them available? I recently got a part for my 6AEO from messicks.

So here's an update on the U-joint. The U-joints on the mower are external (in yoke) snap rings, but the only available U joints with the same dimensions are internal (on bearing cup) snap rings. I bought one of these and had to do a small amount of grinding on the insides of the yoke to remove rough spots, and the internal snap ring version works just fine. For future reference the part number is a 200-1-675 from Burns Industrial, same u joint that is used on lots of farm truck hoists.

Thanks for all the help- maybe this post will help someone out in the future as well
