Marvel Schebler V's Original Zenith on 1954 Tea 20

I would be interested if anyone would have a personal view on the difference in performance and economy between the two carburettors. My Tea20 has a non original Marvel Schebler copy on it and it runs very well be it from cold starting to running for hours on end. My guess is that the original carburettor must have had terminal problems and the now available Zenith didn't exist, hence using an available Schebler copy.
I would like to know if it would run even better on the original type of carburettor used.
Regards Brad

I bwelieve the Zenith was the OEM Carb for the TEA"s. Several M-S"s was used on the TO"s and the TE"s. If the carb is properly adjusted, there should be negligable difference in fuel economy between them.

The correct Carburettor is available from this site or from a Sparex parts dealer. There were no Zenith Carbs available for a while and that is why the MS may have been used, but there was a Holley Carb used that caused problems and that could be another reason it was changed....John (UK)
