Starter motor broken bolt

Hi gang,
Background: My starter wasn't turning over. I realised that the connector to it was a bit loose, so I tried to tighten the nut up. I didn't seem to be tightening so I assumed it was threaded. I tried to take it off but then I realised that the bolt was turning with it. I took the starter out and opened it up and then found...

Problem: The terminal bolt has snapped inside the motor. I need to replace this bolt (or replace the starter housing or the entire starter). I couldn't see an easy way to remove this bolt. Is it possible, and can I get a new one from somewhere?

Usually it's the terminal that breaks in half when the bolt is turned too far, starter repair shops can fix it.

Thanks 2t,
...so my options are to get it fixed or get a new starter. Considering a new starter will cost me about $150 and getting the old one repaired and reconditioned will cost ... what, about $100?... should I just get a new one?

Is there any reason to hold on to the old one? Are they better in quality than the new ones?

- TS

I'd say it all depends on the quality of the rebuild and with all the duds coming out of the third world I'd try and stick with yours, with new bushings and brushes it should be good to go and under 100.
