my friend added dextron coolant red, to his old chevy pickup that had the regular green coolant,

the coolant turned to brown mud, complete cooling system, (radiator and motor block) had to be boiled out.

be very careful when mixing coolants.

what is wrong with the old green stuff that has been around for 50 years.
works good in my old to-35.

Why not use 50% "green stuff", ethylene glycol (EGW) or propylene glycol (PGW) and change each two years? That is all I use in my old engines, would not be without it.

Not supposed to mix, as I understand it. So if you had the old stuff totally out, the red probably would work ok. But unlikely you have it all out of the block. The parts stores sell a lot of the universal 'yellow' stuff now, that supposedly mixes ok and works in both. I'd save the red for a GM product and get a gallon of green or 'yellow' for the tractor. Flush it, put in a gallon of ethylene glycol and fill with water and you are good to go anywhere (almost). Or you could buy the 50/50 stuff and fill with that without adding water. If your water has a lot of minerals in it, that might be worth it, otherwise a waste of money.
