Oil Filler Cap

Ordered a oil filler cap off here last week. Got it in the mail Friday. I put it on my TO20 and after turning it clockwise all the way till it stops, it is extremely loose. Just rattles. The package it came in says it is for all TO20 and TO30 tracotrs.

Any ideas???

Could be like mine. The ramp-like metal that pulls it tight has been worn over the years. I had to modify the flat bars on the cap to compensate for it. If you put the new cap on a new tank it would probably be tight.

I thought about that. I'll take a better look, but it is so loose that I can't imagine that is the problem. It was my dad's tractor, so for all I know, it has a different oil filler tube.

I had to bend the tabs on my oil filler cap to take out the cork gasket in order to clean, took several bends to get it to fit back tight.
