was at a auction wednesday that had a 54 Ford NAA with a six ft bush hog up for sale. the tractor looked very clean, straight sheet metal, like new tires and no movement in front or rear wheels, tight steering too. the hog looked to be used very little. the unit had a ORC and a fast hitch system. i expected that even in this non farming community it would bring at least 2500.00 it sold for 1950.00.

This could be another example of a, sign of the times, I would have thought with your description it should have brought more about 3 years ago but now people aren't wanting to part with their money if they can get by without it.

My thinking is a lot of these smaller tractors were being purchased to mow only and with the advent of the zero turn mowers they aren't in demand as much.

Around these parts, ALL used tractors have dropped a bit in value. They still sell quite well, albeit for less money. It's a totally different crowd that buys $2000 tractors as opposed to $20.000 tractors. You gotta remember, we're looking at 50 and 60 year old tractors here...They only bring so much as a working tractor. (unless they have green paint on 'em!)
