This bushhog came with the to35 and has a chain welded to the rear of the bar running to top of the 3 point. First pic is with it fully forward and second is with it back and third is of the chain.Never seen one with slop in the three point is this so it can float like JEFF OH. commented on in past post?

That is made so when you go into a gulley and the tractor and mower "V" shape. The chain will slacken and not bind the top link. Then if you go to lift it the chain goes in tension and the mower lifts.

This set up does not allow the draft control function of the Ferguson system work as you cannot compress the top link. This is is a similar set up as my mower (I have a pivot at the top link connection).

However this should not be an issue with the TO-35 as you have position control and do not have the drifting lift arm issue of the TO-20's and -30's

Mine is a similar setup, except it has a chain the entire length rather than the bar.. but I like the bar idea and think I'm going to change mine to that style. The benefit of the bar is that when it's sitting like you have shown, the 3 point frame doesn't fall back against the gearbox and is probably a bunch easier to hook up to. Nothing on mine to hold it up when I back up to it, and the cross member bangs on the pto shaft when it falls back.

If you have a problem with the 'A' frame falling back making it difficult to hook up then weld a solid bar from the back of the mower to the top link and use a chain for a top link on the tractor side of the headstock.

Well I haven't cut with it yet except for a few minutes when I first took it off the trailer and it seemed to not respond to the lift as it should have or as I'm use to, seems with all the slop when I lift it it doesn't rise as high but as far as tracking, since I didn't get the stabilizer bars to go with it then that's another unknown. I appreciate all the help and without alot of uneven ground then I'm expecting to put on 2 more stabilizer bars.

Lifting shouldn't be a problem. When I'm using mine, I adjust my top link so the chain is just about tight when on flat ground. So as soon as I lift, the slack is gone, and its no different than a solid connection.

Stuff 'by the book' sez the top link is suppose to be 22 or 24 inches... this thing doesn't have a book- shorten that top link a bit at a time until.. you are/might be happy, mine is like that, but a worn out housie. At first I was stumped as how the last guy used it, but I reckoned his top link was shortened to the end. what bothers me about yours is how high up the bottom links are, don't have much to play with

My bushhog has a "U" shaped bracket that the top link connects to. The "U" has a piece welded to the bottom that contacts the bolt/bushing below the "U". Tighten the top link until the "U" contacts the bolt/bushing. The bushhog is now free to pivot on the lower lift arms and the "U" bracket on uneven ground. But since the "U" is in contact with the bolt/bushing below, the bushhog can be lifted with the lift arms
