Hi

I have an TEA 20 which after replacing the Radiator, water pump, Thermostat & head gasket still boils after one & hours use, last time it did it sounded like boiling water in the air cleaner and steam coming out the exhaust, once cooled refused to start but would turn over,

Any clues as to what the problem maybe?

Thanks

Bob

Bob do you still have the fan shroud installed? If it is i would think it's the therostat, try running it with out. But if you have steam coming out of exhaust i suspect the head gasket is shot if your luckly it can be retorqued and saved.

If you have steam coming out of the exhaust you have a blown head gasket. The water boiling in the air cleaner was the noise of the gas from the cylinders blowing into the water jacket. You need to remove the Head and check that the Sleeves haven't gone too low in the Block. If you take the Head off DO NOT turn the engine over or it may disturb the sleeves and then the gaskets underneath will leak. You must fasten the sleeves down BEFORE you attempt to turn the Engine...If you need help with replacing the Head gasket, email me and I will send you the [email protected]

Hi John

Thanks for your feedback I would appreciate your information to assist in removing & replacing the head gasket,

I have also been wondering the possibility of either the head or block being cracked, your thoughts on this would also be appreciated,

Thanks in advance

It maybe is possible that the Head is cracked and you would usually be able to see this when the Head is removed, or it will give you a good idea. But your description last time did not give that impression. For me to send you any information I need you to email me direct and then I will have your email address to send it too. I can't send you the information on here. If you email, tell me the tractor model and the problem again or I will have to search for it
