Head Needed

I still need a serviceable head for the to20, all the ones i've found have the valve job and i want to re-use my new valves.

I think junk yards is a place to start, but if you need to get a tractor in motion, don't worry about water under the bridge valve set, save them for future, sell them, trade them, but don't stand still over unused parts, we all have barns full of NOS unused parts, it's just part of owning machines...

Go the web site ATIS (antique tractor internet service) click on additional services and then on salvage yards they list them by state. I have 2 here in wisconsin that will ship to you reasonable

Thanks Scott, that web site has 1 here in Ga. and several next door in Fla.That's good advice that Tony gave about not worrying about stockpile,it's just bread into me to scrimp and save. I'm not as bad about it as my daddy was, I used to find pieces of toliet paper stuck inside of the readers digest. (that's why i'm not well read!) TMI

I just thought of something here charlie 2 tractors, post a new question on here- if TO-30 and TO-20's have the same heads, or atleast will fit yours, there are so many dead TO30s 'cause of the block cracks, there must be alot more of them lying around, and put a call out for Ron8n? in Texas, I bet he has something to fit.

Tony those to30 heads won't fit, the oil hole for the heads is off the center bearing and to20 is off the rear. I went to the machine shop today and my head has cracks under the second third and forth valve springs, he said magnaflux might not have detected it, but with the marks i made showings where air bubbles came out he was able to detect it, VERY STRANGE to have a head crack like that way down in middle Ga. Temp only gets to 17 degrees maybe twice a blue MOON!!

those 30 heads didn't crack so often from freezing, you'd know when that happens right away, but from running too hot, like heavy work in the Georgia summer sun, from where you say your cracks are, that's from heat, not cold, just like the cracked webs in the 30 blocks are from working to hot. Worst comes to worst, JB weld smeared on after grinding the spots down to clean metal.
