Has anyone ever used or made one of these? I would like to make one. Something big enough to haul wood not like the little dirt scoops.

Thanks

Are you looking for a loader, or something to haul wood? Two different things to me. What kind of tractor?

I don't think you could make something big enough to carry a lot of wood on the back on the 3pt as it has roughly 800 pound lift if I remember correctly. However pulling a trailer could carry an awful lot of wood. IMO

I see tractor supply has one of these dump loaders. I would think that it would work fine for hauling wood. Maybe take a look at one and get some ideas for building your own.

Hello I attached my dirt scoop to a boom pole to load dirt and creek gravel with. It worked really good. only thing you have to load into a low trailer or truck if you have a small tractor the front end will not stay on ground. you can make this with a shorter pole and it would probably slove the problem. Hope this helps. DJ

I have this one that was made in a local shop years ago, farmers in my area used them to put sawdust in tobacco barns before they all had small tractors with loaders.

works good, just sit in on the ground, pull lever, then lift 3pt hitch and load dump onto the ground. When it sets back down it relatchs and you are ready for the next load.
can not use it a loader as it dumps at ground level.
works great to pickup heavy wood blocks to set them on wook splitter. I have hauled gravel with it so its very strong.

they sell one like it at Northern Tool Co.

My point, exactly, Richard.... I'm with you. The small dirt scoops you can buy will pick up as much as the front of a 20 or 30 Fergie will lift and travel safely, especially uphill. To haul a lot of wood, go with a trailer.

It would be used on a Ferguson 35 or 135. Basicly looking for something to haul wood then dump so I would not have to unload each piece.
Thanks for your help so far

would you have the item number for the one at Tractor supply? There is a store an hour away and I would like to make sure that they have one. I could not find it on line
