I have a lot of play in one of my radius rod ends the ball end and one front tire is kicked in do they make a bushing for the radius rod I couldn't find one listed

thanks John

If you are talking about the ball end of the radius rod being worn, it is more likely the foot peg halves are worn. I believe new foot peg outer halves are available. I can't see them listed by Sparex or BareCo but I think John (UK) mentioned that they were now available. Check with John.

As an interim measure, you may be able to skim the faces of the two halves of the foot peg to clamp the ball end tighter?

Are you sure the problem is a worn radius rod ball or foot peg halves? The radius rod locates the axle - if [u:77c667fe85]one[/u:77c667fe85] tire "is kicking in" it sounds more like a steering problem: drag link tie rod ball joints; steering king pin/spindle or bushes; or possibly wheel bearings, steering box bushes or axle center pin bushes?

You may need to Jack up the front end and identify where all the steering and wheel "play" is.

when I grab the top of the front tire and shake it most of the play I can see is in the right radius rod socket, this is with the tractor on the ground There is some play in the tie rods and the axle on the right side also

?"do they make a bushing for the radius rod? "
answer, I make bush from plastic oil jug and place it on the trans side. Plastic wears well and simple and inexpensive.

I had same loose....

5 years ago I put a 1¢ piece inside the socket and tightened the cap no more loose...... if it become loose again I will put another 1¢ piece.

What a great, simple solution and it will work!

Unfortunately we haven't had copper coins in Australia for 20 years.

I will give the penny fix a try this week and with any luck I will have it fixed and ready to plow before we get another snow storm

I had the same problem, took the tinsnips and cut a piece of tin and inserted it, the wear was at the foot peg.. worked. The front tyre will need adjusting at the tie rod end.
