you can buy replacement filter material here and on other sites but the material is not removeable on the original, so you will have to cut out the base piece that holds the centre tube, replace the material, then weld the centre tube back in.

optionally you can clean it in situ by soaking it in solvent or gasoline for an extended period and agitating it. a tip is to attack a length of hose to the carb outlet side pipe that is longer than the housing, so you can turn the thing upside down and fill it to the brim.

this will gradually bring most of the gunk out of it. mine was really dirty and it took forever and made a mess and is still dirty.

Take the cleaner off and leave it to soak in a bucket of gas or solvent until it is clean, this will take some time if it is really dirty. Allow to drain before refitting. If the Gauze is rusted away inside you can get a "refill" from Sparex agents and maybe this site has it as well....John

You may find the lower oil pan has a build up of "silt" in the bottom. Soak in gas, scrape out and refill with 3/4 pint of engine oil (up to the fill mark).

I have a service manual for the ON-THE-FARM service unit that was sent out to the farms by Ferguson. This manual was published by Harry Ferguson Inc. 1953. I can not send you a copy of the air cleaner unit because of maybe copy rights. I can draw you a dia. if you like. let me know
