Removing the engine

I will be removing the engine from my TED20 next week.

Can anyone tell me how much it weighs? What sort of engine stand do I need to operate on it? Do I even need a stand; is there another way to support it or lift it off the floor if I choose to work on it there? I have a variety of jacks, for example.

This is the first time I will be dong anything like this, so any tips would be appreciated.

The best advice i could give you is to get the shop manual for your trator. It will give you all the pertinent details you need remove the engine.

You disconnect the engine from the Clutch housing and wheel it out on the front wheels, then you lower engine onto blocks and remove front axle. If you want to know how to do it in more detail, email me at:-

tell me again what you need and I will send it out to you.....John

Thanks John; that doesn't sound too difficult. I was wondering whether I need to raise it up again to gain access to it, but I guess I am still young and nimble enough to get under it from that height! I don't currently have an engine stand - if I get one, would I attach it to the front or rear of the engine?
