TEA20 advertised for sale on EBay Australia, EBay Item Number: 140312526640

It is advertised as having a "Fergy Positioner" and there is one photo which I assume is the device?

Anyone heard of a "Fergy Positioner"?? I assume it is a depth control device but I can't find it listed as a Harry Ferguson Ltd option?

Bob, have a look at this website - http://www.fergy.com.au/positioncontrol.htm - looks similar to the part you located - but no clues about the black rubber bands - Geoff

I am not sure about these black bands but the Fergie positioner
that I bought for my to-20 used wire that were threaded thru
holes that were drilled thru the bolts to keep them from backing
out.

Hmmm. That's embarrassing - looks like an Aussie invention to compete with Zane's device and I didn't know about it!

Obviously not a Ferguson factory option.

Looking at that web site one can see lock wire holes through the bolt heads. My guess the "black bands" are some type of locking device.

Thanks for that web site link!

Bob,

Send me an e-mail and I'll send you a copy of the Position Control Article I wrote for the Ferguson Furrows. (actually available to anyone who wants it.)

There are several of these type devices currently available. The Zane thang and the Fergy positioner are the commercially available ones. I have building plans for a position control that is easy to build. I also have my own design. And there is the "Equalizer" which is a position control device that was contemporary to the Tractors.

The reason for the black bands (here they may be zip ties.) Is that the way the Fergy Positioner works is that it rotates the whole quadrant control instead of just the lever. Thus the four bolts must be slightly loose to allow the quadrant control to rotate. Since the bolts are not torqued down they could back out if not kept from rotating some how.

Nothing wrong with your eyes - I didn't notice those foot plates.

Never seen those before - I suspect they are home made. As the foot peg is at the radius rod pivot, it looks like those foot plates are somehow connected to the bottom of the transmission, as well as hanging off the foot pegs?

Hi all. I asked the seller about the position controller and was told
to go to www;fergy.com.au What a surprise in our own back yard
oh well it is a big yard.

Yes, I was very surprised to find it was an Aussie invention! I'd never heard of it!

Even John in the UK and a few guys in the USA knew about it!

We live and learn - that is what this bulletin board is all about!!
