EBay Australia

Bob, great price for the seller of the one that has ended. I noticed the other one does not have the extra 20 MPH (or should I say KMH) chrome shifter so I understand why you are not bidding on it. LOL Great looking tractors. Richard

Got to have a chrome shifter!!

Must be a sign of the times as tractor prices are dropping and not attracting any bids on EBay.

I also saw a Ferguson post hole gear box on EBay for around $50, which was real cheap.

For some reason I'm yet to figure, around 80% of all old Ferguson tractors and implements sold in Australia seem to be in the state of Victoria (capital Melbourne). Only conclusions I can draw is that State always had a small property and market garden industry, whereas most other States of Australia generally have large cattle, sheep and grain holdings, rather than small holding and market gardens. Tractors around here tend to be humungus red and black or green and yellow things with eight wheels or tracks and air con cabs!

Also, Harry Ferguson (Australia) Limited, 1950s Ferguson distributor, was based in Melbourne.

The State of Victoria would be at least 1,500 miles from where I live in central Queensland. The Harry Ferguson Tractor Club and parts distributor Bareco are also based in Victoria.

Interestingly, my own TEA20 is reputed to have spent it's working life (until I bought it in 1986) on a Queensland sugar cane farm, although I have never been able to trace it's history.
