No.1 Piston ring showing on downstroke

I think I found my binding issue the No.1 piston leans more in one direction towards the wall and you can see the ring on the down stroke what would cause this.

Is the piston installed in the correct orientation? Is it the correct size (did you actually measure it)? Have you measured the bore? Sam

Could be a large part of the piston skirt has broken off on one side. My TO20 had that happen to the previous owner. Have you pulled the pan and had a look from the bottom?

Broken Ring or piston, remove piston from engine, this is the only way....John
