I'm looking for a Transmition/Rear End dipstick for a TE20. Does anyone have an idea of where I can find one..

The only dipstick I can locate for the tractor is an oil dipstick.

Can I take an oil dipstick and cut it down to the size of a transmition dipstick?
Will it stay in the hole without faling out? What lenght shoulds it be?

Thanks:
Murray

The correct level of fluid in the transmission case is enough such that if you remove the lowest bolt on the inspection plat the fluid will just start to come out on level ground.

www Steiner Tractor dot com. push that together when the page comes up type in "mfs128" in the first line, your dipstick will come up. I did not see one on this site. If you have a salvage yard check them out also. If you need to check the oil level right now take one of the bottom bolts out of the left or right side inspection hole covers, the oil should JUST come out if it runs out good it was to full. Good luck Richard

Thanks Jeff,

But I have lost my dipstick, I worry about water, dirt and other things getting into there and causing me trouble. So I would like to find a replacement.. I looked on this site as well as Ebay with no luck..

Here is the measurements for the transmission dip stick (in my TEA20) in case you can modify a similar dip stick:
