I've searched the forums and the internet on how to install the Sparex Spin on Filter adapter. No instructions came in the box and I want to ensure there are no leaks.

The large gasket likely goes on first, then the metal plate not certain which side bump up towards filter or bump down?towards engine, small gasket, adapter nut and finally filter.

Oh and another question do I put oil in the filter before I spin it on or the oil pressure will push up oil?

Thanks for your help.

The plate goes with the flat side toward
the block. You want the big oring pressed
between the back side of the adapter plate
and the block surface.

Got the spin on kit installed today, no leaks, oil pressure rose immediately to normal. Also added an oil drain plug washer since tractor was leaking at the plug originally.

Only used the big Oring / gasket on engine, then plate, next the screw on adaptor, finally the filter. Remembered to oil all gaskets before tightening.

Seems easier than using the canister type.

Thanks for the suggestions Steve and Miner.
