I have had a 65 for several years and have found it to be a great tractor. I am in the middle of a rebuild and was wondering if that would change the gas and oil. I was told by the previous owner that I had to use leaded gas and non detergent oil, which I have, I have rebuilt the head with new valves as well as new sleeves and pistons purchased through YT. Would that change the gas and oil type?

3rd try for this
What you where told is out and out bull. No gas with lead in it any more and if your using a lead additive well it has no lead in it so it is snake oil at best.
As for oil I use a detergent oil in every tractor I have including my 1935 JD-B

I wouldn't use paint formulated in the 1950's on my barn as much as I wouldn't use oil from the same era in my tractor .
