TO 35 cracked block

His 35 has water in the oil. He pulled it down and found a crack between the liners. He's been told this is very common but this is his first tractor. A 20 year fence row salvage and restore.

He's wondering if JB weld and stop leak would solve the leak for an extremely light use yard/garden machine or should he start looking for a known replacement block?

Thanks

I had the same question not long ago and Dieseltech said if the cracked are down below where the orings seal then it's toast. Still there's a chance it could be stitched. With only 7lbs. of pressure one would think a deep grind with JB would hold. Up top I think the head gasket will seal.

Couldn?t it be bolted/pinned like the z129 blocks? I?ve had three TO30?s done that way all still work fine, never leaked.

I would definitely give JB Weld a try, that stuff can do some amazing work. The key is to clean and prep the surface very thoroughly and let it dry for a good long time before putting it to use, like a couple of days. At worst you are just back to where you started.
