I was refitting the generator and after tensioning the fan belt I noticed that the generator pulley was not in line with the other fan belt pulleys and was thinking of how I could give the generator mounting plate a good bash to fix things.
Anyways I loosened off the generator and slackened the belt tension and all appears to be good now. So just how much tension is enough as I didn't think I had over done it but was enough to put too much stress on gen mount plate I guess.
