Z134 exhaust valve rotators

Hi, All,

134 rebuild came to a halt when I noticed that the valves supplied as part of the rebuild kit do not have holes in the end of the valve stem to admit the pin on the rotator cap.

I guess I will tear it down and check the valve in a lathe and drill 'em, but does anyone on thr forum have this experience as well?

thanks

bill

Continental exhaust valves with pins NEVER had rotator caps, just plain spring retainers like the intake valves. Exhaust valves that use rotators use grooves for the split retainer lock halves..

I would not modify the valves, too much at stake to be trying something like that!

Send them back, get the right ones.

yes I replaced old valves. They had the pin type valve rotators.

one of the comments on the thread makes a comment about pin retainers- I m talking about the exhaust valves which do yes have a groove for the tapered retainers. The old valves had a small ole in the center of top of the stem to accept a rotator cap which was a small disc with a pin in the center to locate the cap on the top of the valve stem.

I reached out to this site where I bought the rebuild kit but no reply.
