Converting Tea20 to Electronic Ignition

Has anyone converted a standard Ferguson points distributor to electronic by reusing the internals from a different distributor which is electronic?
I have a spare Toyota Celica electronic distributor and was interested in making a new base plate internally for the Ferguson distributor to transfer the electronics over and see if it would work.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

As long as you don't do modifications to original parts, it can be put back, all you loose is time.

Thanks again Steve. If it doesn't work I just replace the original base plate with it's attachments etc.
