Sparex headlamp Bulb Retainers

So I got myself a pair of reproduction hood mounted headlamps from Sparex for my 1958 TO-35. Painted them all pretty and went to assemble. I'm finding that the bulb springs are too small. Put them in both ways, but the bulb is loose, no matter which way they go in. The "tangs (the part that contacts the rim of the headlight ring) are almost straight up, so I can't bend them to be any tighter.

The springs I refer to are those "W" shaped ones supplied by Sparex claiming to replace the Fergie part number

Anyone else have this issue?

Is there a better source for springs?

TIA

Look close at the way they clip on edge(rim) of bulb. The leg (bottom) will go under ring on outer edge. They will be tight when it's right. I've got a set apart I can take picture of if you need it.

Thanks for the offer Miner - but I got them to go. Had to bend them all. Perhaps Fords are different and they're all made to fit them. The ones Steiner sells are likely the same parts Sparex is reselling. Don't know. But the headlights are on - now just need the wiring harness. More money....

Thanks to all who replied!

Thanks for all of the suggestions - got them to work by bending them. All good and mounted. Now on to the wiring harness. More money.....
