Ferguson Ted20 Hand cranking

Hi I have hand cranked my fergie in the past ok it started up instantly. But tried it the other day and it wouldn't engage just kept turning with what sounded like a ratchet noise?
Am I doing something wrong or do I have an issue with something?

Sounds like the starter handle dog or crank pulley has come adrift .

It's starting and running fine on electric
ignition if that helps

There Is a part on the crank shaft pulley that has a set of fingers that the hand crank should engage to. Look in form the side while putting the hand crank in and make sure the fingers are not broken off or clogged p with dirt and grease. Also make sure the T end of your hand crank is not broken off or bent
