Ferguson F40 advice

I am considering taking on a new project. Found an F40 and was wondering if anyone has tackled one of these and are parts available? I understand it was only made in '56 &'57 and it is a twin of the Massey Harris 50. I know the Z134 will not be a problem getting parts for, but I did not know about others, such as hydraulics, etc. Any opinion is welcome.

Only thing on to itself is the tin. If you have it all, and in good shape, be careful with it. Mechanical stuff is all TO35, Z134 engine. Wiring is NOT exactly the same as an MH50, those were still assembled at Massey Harris plants.

When ordering parts sometime you have to look up MF50. Parts are the same and also MH
50. Like Tony said the 35 is same as far as engine. Most times they don't show F40. I
have 5--F40 and don't have any problem getting parts. Parts like tail pipe and bottom
radiator hose you have to ask for early MF50 gas. They are very good tractors. The only difference is the grill on 56-57.

Thanks for all the input. The seller is about 2.5 hours away from me. So if I can work it out I may try to bring this basket case home and start a new project

I saw one today in great shape tin wise and I think it has had a lot of work done to it over the years to keep it in good shape. Used for mowing on a small acreage fore a while. $3500 would buy it. I'm not interested, but it caught my eye because of the front plate and how good the metal was. One minor ding on a fender was all.

Well I struck out. Seller has it listed as a 40 and told me over the phone it was a 40, but he did not know much about it. It was a very tired TO20. Disappointed to say the least.
