My dad a 2-row front mounted cultivator, planter, and bedder (lister) that he bought new for a TO-30 about 1952. I thought I recalled him saying that he bought it from Sear Roebuck. I have probably 75% of the parts to theses implements. I have been searching for manuals or pictures of some of this equipment but have not had any success. My dad said that after changing the equipment several times he decide to go to the rear-mounted equipment. He also could not find anyone interested in the front mounted stuff so he just junked it.

I would really appreciate any comments or pictures.

My Grandpa bought his front mounted 2 row cultivator from Sears also.We still have it. It was set on 40 inch rows. I liked cultivating with it cause I didn't have to keep turning around. I just kept an eye on the front cultivator. This is my Dad on the tractor. When I was younger I would ride on the back of the cultivator! The back tires would have been turned inside out also.

Great picture and story. Thanks for posting.

I did not know front mounted cultivators were available. I spent a lot of time using rear mounted ones. Still have a couple of them around.

I do not recall seeing my dad's cultivator in front of the front axle but I definitely recognize the shanks, toolbar, and lift arm coming from the rockshafts in the back. The planter units were mounted just behind the front axle on 2-1/4" square toolbars about 2 feet long. There was a cast-iron frame on each side of the tractor that ran from underneath the rear axles forward to the toolbars on each side of the tractor. The shanks for the bedders & planters then attached to the toolbars. There is also a 2-1/4" square 3-point mounted track plow for the cultivator. It was also used as the mount for a 3rd middle bedder shank if the 2 front bedders were mounted directly in front of the rear tires.

Before the poison ivy sprouts out this Spring and the rattlesnakes wake up, I will try to drag some of the remaining parts out of the scrap iron pile and get some pictures of them.
