Paint by brush or spray gun

Well I was in a hurry to check out how gray the paint in the can is so applied by brush a small section. I was impressed with the result and wondered how many others have opted to brush paint the chassis. I would not attempt with the panels.
Cheers

I could see that being done.

Never did a tractor, but have done some machinery with a brush. Came out good enough for what it was, as in getting filthy the first time it was run! LOL

Takes a lot of intricate dobbing to get into all the tight spots, but with patience and perseverance, it should be OK.

But there is no shortcut for preparation, removing peeling paint, grease. That is where the real quality shows.

If you haven't already , use an etch primer on bare areas including the alloy parts . I didn't and have little chips allover an otherwise nice looking tractor .
There is also a hardener that you can add to enamel paint to make it more resistant to chips but you must wear protective gear to use it .

The chassis has been painted previously and is sound but I was
thinking of giving it a coat of filler primer just to smooth
out areas that are pitted or slightly uneven from previous paint
jobs. Will be using Stoneleigh grey bareco or sparex I believe
these paints hide imperfections very well.

Here's a shot of my '39 ford 9n painted with a brush. just The body and wheels not the tin.
