1954 Ferguson TO-30 Went Down the Road

Since 1996, we had a TO-30 as part of our stable of equipment.
We used it on our ranch to plow snow out of the lanes, haul the pipe trailer, 'hog around the farmstead, etc. It never failed to start in the coldest weather and was easy to work on the few times we had to work on it.

We added a Ford 4610 in 1999 and NH TD95D in 2010m then a Kubota M4500 in 2016. No more room for the old TO-30 so we put her on Craigslist this past summer and sold it to a local roper that will use it to groom his roping arena. He picked it up on Sunday. I'm sure that it'll be good for another 63 years!

But I'll still miss it!

Jerry, Hello, I had to upgrade to a 2000 ford with power steering to mow as i'm getting older and couldn't turn the 35 fast enough
to mow lol, I've had the 35 for 37 yrs. and it's still going strong, Overhauled it as a liner rotted out and put coolant in the
oil, 1 major breakdown in all those yrs., not bad. I don't need it any more , But couldn't imagine selling it as it's like an old friend lol...You are going to miss that little tractor...Mine will be there when the wife has the big yard sale lol..Luck to you.....Ed

yeah they are reliable little machines but with non-live hydraulics, they are tough to use with modern implements and I ran out of room to store it in the machine shed. I don"t like storing tractors or implements out in the weather. The new owner is a roper and will use it to drag his arena and store it inside. A good retirement job for that tractor.

Jerry, Glad you are well and getting by, Good choice, You found it a good home instead of putting it out in the weather and rotting away as so many do. We are getting more snow than usual, But it's easy and fun with good equipment. Hope you stay on this sight, your insite and common sense approach to tractors is needed ( common sense is kind of uncommon today)....lol.....Warmest regards...Ed

Thanks for the kind words, Ed. I am a little more picky at what I respond to but I had that TO-30 for awhile and it went down the road in better shape than what I got it in. I still maybe of some help to some people.

I wish I still had my TO-30. Bought it "fixed-up" from an older mechanic in Ft. Worth and hauled it almost to Houston. Unfortunately, ended up needing something then with a sharper turning radius. Sure hated to let that one go!!
