MF 135 Multi-Power 1975 Transmisson unknown part

Can anybody tell me where the spring should be mounted. I dropped it on the floor and I'm not sure where it should be mounted, Main shaft or?

Sorry, I forgot the foto :(

Late tractors used the spring to hold the main clutch shaft forward. Goes in the MP clutch end of the main clutch shaft and front end of the top transmission main shaft.

Thanks again :D Now I have an other problem. The snap ring for Multi Power house is destroyed and must be new. I have searched all over web without finding the part, perhaps you can help me to find where to buy. I attach the figure, its part number 51. Is it possible to buy industrial standard clips?

About Parts list. I have 2 workshop manuals but the spring is not in that manuals. Which workshop manual do you have where you can see the sprig? Can you give me some reference to the manual.

Thanks in advance!

The spring/washer was not used on early tractors, and most early service manuals will not show it either. If you have a 255/265/275 manual they should be shown there. Also will be shown in LATE 135/150/165/175 and 180 parts lists. Look closely at the rear of the clutch shaft, spring enters into. The washer then needs to go on the spring with the inner cone CENTERING in the front of the transmission sliding gear main shaft.

Snap ring is MF part # 364 689 X1, 5 3/4 diameter, 1/4 inch thick. Same snap ring is used on MF hydraulic PTO clutch drum in 100 and 200 series tractors. Should not be hard to find a good used one. First time I've ever seen one damaged.
