TEA 20 3 pt hitch question

The 3 pt hitch has been working great these last few snow storms with my snow blower. Today though it would only raise after lever was pushed all the way down and raised all the way up. the 3 pt hitch goes all the up but slowly lowers. Am I looking at a pump rebuild and if so how tricky is it?

If it lifts the blower then it"s probably not the pump. It"s most likely a sticking control valve. Before you pull the pump, take off the right had side plate and WITH THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING, reach into the oil and find the control valve stem and move it fore and aft. It should easily move about an inch from back to front.
 
Took off side plate on right and all seemed to be in order. Its working fine now and I will keep my fingers crossed
 
At 2 degrees it is cold and thick. I usually let her warm up for about 10 minutes before using on these cold Maine mornings. I will change oil this spring as it appears to be the color of caramel syrup.
