are the nuts a replaceable item? my parts book does NOT list them separately.

Steve, when I done my 35 I got new ones at MF dealer but had to order. When they came one was fine and one coarse serration, they reordered and the same thing again. I took the fine ones and they said they couldn't send back and would just keep them, so they may have a pair of coarse ones? I could check and see if you want. They are available across the pond for $10-15 each. Looks like yours are the fine like my old ones. I made a tool to flair he back side as it is what holds them in.

Steve, I did come up with parts # and is the same for either early or late hood. That may have been why we ended up with 2 of each ones. The only difference is in the serrations. Part # 180 630 M1. The coarser ones would give a little more for finger grip. They are brass and could be re-chromed ok.

Out of my parts book, under hood assemblies. It was 10 yrs. ago but they might still have the coarse ones. They are an old dealership.
