Safety chain

My friend and I are finishing a 9n project for his doctor and this tractor came with some neat extras. One is the partial safety chain, the front half of the chain and stopper plate were missing, but the tag was still on. Also had the rear stabilizer bars and an original draw bar lock.

So reason for the post is, why are the replacement chains so expensive? Such a neat and simple device to stop you from lifting the three point hitch too high when using a drawbar or other device. I found a flea bayer who has these for $50 original and yet new aftermarkets run in excess of $100. Curious.

Tom my first reaction was supply & demand. Then I also thought first reaction. If a person was looking for one of those for a while and some one put one on ebay or other selling place this person might say I have to get that now regardless of price. It will be interesting to see what others say.
 
About the second time, when getting off the tractor your foot accidentally hits that lift lever pulling it up, the lift arms come up bending your stay bars,

You think, well that lift lever lock down clamp was worth every penny,

When I am using my stay bars on my seeder, about the only thing I still use them on, I always lock that lift lever down,
My big foot is good at hitting the lift lever or pulling out the transmission dip stick, how I do not know, but I replaced two of them before I chained the third dip stick to the tractor,
 
Richard, thanks and I thought about your reply. I just looked at the Ford parts on this site and they are there for 49.95, good price. It's the new ones I found on eBay and other parts stores that were over $100 each. So go to the site here to get them. Great safety item

Try Australian E bay if you want your eyes to water !
Originals are as scarce as the proverbial Hen's teeth here , the last I saw sell went for well over $200 Aus . Reproductions were about half that although they seem to be reducing in price lately. Perhaps they are being supplied through the same source as those in the U.S.
