TEA-20 Faulty 6 Volt Starter

Tractor TEA-20 S# 182991, Engine # S105046E has a Faulty 6 VOLT Starter / Components ?

I have the Original SERVICE MANUAL (6 VOLT) and shall dismantle STATER DRIVE:

Starter "MOTORS" like it always has, now the "SPIRAL DRIVE" no longer turns with the ARMATURE?

Instructions indicate a "RUBBER" component that I believe may have failed?

ARROWS on Picture, indicate POINT were SPIRAL DRIVE and ARMATURE are NO LONGER rotating as one unit:

This is a 6 VOLT arrangement, my parts TEA-20's are all 12 VOLT Starters.....:(

The original 12 VOLT starter engage the FLYWHEEL from the AFT face of the FLYWHEEL / Ring Gear, were as the 6 VOLT engages the FLYWHEEL / Ring Gear from the FWD side of the Flywheel:

I could exchange the FLYWHEEL, so as 12 VOLT starter functions......not going to happen:

Would someone have a contact as to purchase new STARTER drive Components for the 6 VOLT Starter as per pictures?

Thanks:

Bob..

Even going to the lengths of changing the flywheel won't allow you to use a 12 volt starter John-Deere .
The bell housings on 6 and 12 volt tractors differ .

Note the small bulge on the six volt .

The larger on the twelve volt .

I have seen one example where the owner/abuser took to the bell housing with an angle grinder and cut a hole in it to provide extra room for the pinion

ITEM 19 ( RUBBER COUPLING) has FAILED:

Item 19 Absorbs Torsional shock:

The Center drive is (was) Vulcanized to the outer drive member:

If someone knows of a parts supplier great:

I have noticed the British Car TRIUMPH has a similar Starter drive ....

Thanks

Not sure if this is what you need but Moss or one of the other UK Triumph spare dealers might be able to supply one .

in the next week or so I am going to send an injector pump and injectors for servicing to a diesel and electrical specialist and he knows his job and keeps a lot of parts so I can ask him if you want.. I will do it as a favour and not for profit

I received a call from an individual whom had a 6 VOLT STARTER for sale...."bring your TRAILER as the STARTER is still attached to the Tractor and plough!
Tractor was driven into shop and then abandoned 20 years ago.
The little Jewel shall be right at home.......:)

Yeah Charles, Alberta is just that way. I have distant relatives up there... usually people wash things, change the oil, fill the tank, then pay you for the time to take it all home....sometimes i wish i lived there.... only in summer tho..

The below info. is what I located on the Internet, and then purchased through e-bay from the below individual:

This is an aftermarket replacement part of the day it replaces Lucas 291350 .The applications for it are as follows Ferguson tractors 1948-50 with 25519 starter, Morris six with 25518 starter 1949-50,Standard Vanguard range 1948-50,with 25511 &25526 starter, Triumph 2000 saloon & roadster 1949 & renown 1950 with 25526 starter, & Wolseley six eighty 1949-50. This part is renowned to fail with age as the rubber debonds from the steel sleeve and it will fail to turn the engine over. If you own any of the above it might be worth putting one on the shelf in the garage they are becoming scarce
