1948jr, I had an issue with my TO30. Not charging. I found a couple problems, which makes situation more difficult to correct. First, I thought the 6V generator was not working. That turned out to be the wire connections, even though they were on the terminals securely, there was no electrical contact. The nuts, washers and terminals were oxidized enough that no voltage/current was passing. Some filing of the metal parts solved that. Generator then passed it's test. However I still wasn't charging the battery. I attempted to clean the VR contacts but gave in and purchased a new one, for about $25. That corrected my charging issue. The moral is, if you have more then one problem, it can be difficult..

Who tested the generator?

Are they a generator/alternator/starter and auto electrical shop?

If so, might be easier to just load up and take it to them, let them have a look.
