To20 3 point looses power after heating up

Hey folks, my TO20 3 point seems to loose power after running up and down for about 5 minutes, it will start by lifting a brush hog up no problem, then each time I let down and pick up it gets slower and slower until it won't lift it off ground more than a couple inches... fluids are full and clear however I do notice it looks aireated and full of small bubbles on dipstick after a while.

The pto runs strong the whole time and will continue to turn brush hog the whole time. Any ideas what might be going wrong?

oil in system to light, pump weak, bad relief valve, bad piston rings, gasket on lift piston blown[fix one today]or just plane wore out. could be one of many things

So I will try replacing fluid with new 5 gallons of 90w GL-1. If that doesn't work would next step be pulling the entire pump out ? I assume at that point it might be cheaper to buy a new pump at approximately $300 than overhaul this one as the overhaul kits appear to be about the same price? or am I missing something?. It seems weird that the 3 point has plenty of power when you first start it after its been sitting and then looses power as it runs.

Block rear wheels, remove the round plate with the dip stick and observe as you raise and lower the 3 point. If you see oil squirting, or bubbling you have probably found the problem area. Keep hands out when engine is running!!

How high do I have to block the rear wheels. Is that necessary to reduce the oil level or can I just remove the inspection cover and look without doing that and having hydraulic fluid pour out?

Not sure why to block rear wheels.

The oil level should be right at the bottom of the covers, you won't loose much if any.

You'll want to get it warmed up first, leave the load on the 3 point. Raise it up, watch for oil spraying or churning from below. You may have to lower the oil level to see where it is coming from if below.

If coming from above it's the cylinder seals. Some seepage is normal, but not spraying.

I mention blocking the wheels only as a safety factor....just a 2 x 4 to keep it from rolling. If I remove side cover and am down on my knees trying to look in the hole I don't want tractor to start rolling.

Safety first for sure and I appreciate that... I will be tearing this apart this evening and will post pictures of the findings. Stay tuned.
