So in July the wife let me get a Fergy TO-20, Leyland 145, Manure spreader, rototiller and a brush hog.
The spreader went away for too cheap. The Leyland is parked and the rototiller is eyeing me in the driveway.
Those two will get worked on this winter, then bundled next spring and go away. That brings me to the Fergy and
the brush hog. The hog had a loose deck that gave me an education when the stump jumper failed to come off the
bottom. I finally torched off the bolt heads and fished some new ones in there to tighten it all up again.
The Fergy was another story. It came with a real high idle, obvious it had
issues. It even came with a brand new Amazon Chinese $52 carburetor and a nippendenso alternator. The alternator
works great. The carb in this case was not so great. I wound up going through my collection, finding another TO-
20 carb and rebuilding it. Replaced the intake gasket, Fuel shut off valve under the tank, adjusted the governor
rod and the timing. It finally will now start on the first crank and runs at 400 RPM. Now at the end of the
season, the Fergy needs to go away. I had the wife going down and buying parts wondering when she was going to
ask me if I knew what I was doing. I got it stared last night and it finally runs good. Better than her Fergy,
just not good enough to warrant keeping tractor #10. It just tells me I need to tweak her Fergy a bit better.
Doing this reminded me of putting the head gasket on her Fergy and the manual saying to coat it with a thin
layer of "cup grease". John(UK) informed me once that was nothing more than wheel bearing grease. I used this
trick on the gaskets and was impressed as they got a bit more pliable assuring me of a better seal. At least
something went better. Now here it sits looking for a new home. At the end of the season. God be willing it will
go away very, very soon.

Yeah. That thought did cross my mind, However she now has a kuboda toy and a 871 gold demonstrator Ford to play with currently. The 881D is getting the engine put back together very s-l-o-w-l-y. Thn maybe another one in there somewhere....
