Hi Are copper caskets used on the exhaust flange as I'm guessing that the casket I have left over is for the exhaust pipe. It's two layers of copper with a white asbestos type stuff between the copper layers.
Thanks

Have included photo, was included in casket set.
It's not overly thick copper is paper thin and whatever the white filling is would be about an 1/8 inch.

The last PERKINS A3.152 EXHAUSTY MANIFOLD I changed used GASKETS that appears to be of the same CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL as the gasket you are questioning. I have approximately 75 HRS on the NEW GASKETS (Item # 2)and Manifold, all is running great:

The '' White stuff '' is unlikely to be Asbestos if the gasket is a modern one . Most probably glass or ceramic fibre .

The last TWO Gaskets Sets I purchased, were as pictured:

Gasket was installed between EXHAUST MANIFOLD Flange and EXHAUST PIPE Flange:

Yes, that is a high temp gasket for the exhaust.
