Hi,
I broke the timing chain on my Ferguson TEA-20 and I am trying to complete as much of the work as possible myself. Since I needed to replace the Head Gasket anyways, I went ahead and started pulling things apart. I have the head off and I'm trying to figure out whether or not any valves are bent. I sprayed break cleaner behind the valves and 7 out of the 8 were leaking fluid. Does this mean all of these valves are bent, or could this just mean that the valves need to be cleaned and lapped? I was originally planning on doing a valve job using the method described in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GEmuQa3dPY . Should this be done at all or with new valves only?
Recommendations on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
