Checking Valves on a TEA-20

Hi,

I broke the timing chain on my Ferguson TEA-20 and I am trying to complete as much of the work as possible myself. Since I needed to replace the Head Gasket anyways, I went ahead and started pulling things apart. I have the head off and I'm trying to figure out whether or not any valves are bent. I sprayed break cleaner behind the valves and 7 out of the 8 were leaking fluid. Does this mean all of these valves are bent, or could this just mean that the valves need to be cleaned and lapped? I was originally planning on doing a valve job using the method described in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GEmuQa3dPY . Should this be done at all or with new valves only?

Recommendations on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Checking my crystal ball... Well, send me some batteries for it and it might start working. Pull the valves, lay
them down flat and roll them across a flat surface. The bent ones, if any, will show up real fast. You might also
write a number on them to keep them in order.

I agree with Bruce. lay the valves on a sheet of glass with the heads over the edge so only the stem is touching the glass and roll them. Anything bent will show in a hurry.
The brake cleaner leaking past to my mind is all about valve to valve seat contact, nothing to do with the stem. And VERY good advice to number the valves so that each one goes back exactly where it came from.
Pictures always get a big response here for me so I suggest you take a few happy snaps as you go for us and for future reference.
