TO30 lift arms won't stay where I put them

I have a 1956 Harry Ferguson TO30. The lift arms on the 3 point will either lift the load or drop the load when I move the quadrant. It will not stay where I put it in the middle. Is there position control on this machine? I read something about a "Zane Thang" that will add position control to a 2N. Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

I used these plans to make one. It works well for me.

All correct. Your tractor has draft control but not position control. The Zane Thang works. Zane Sherman in Talladega, AL sells them.
As the other post said you can make one yourself. Also Red Rock sells one that works. The Red Rock and ZT are both a little over $100,
probably about $120 nowdays. The parts from a scrap yard to make one are about $20. I've done all three options on three different TO-
30s. I have to say, for outright performance, price excluded, the ZT works a little better for me than the others, but maybe I didn't
adjust the others just right or maybe the ZT is on a better tractor for that purpose. However the ZT is more obtrusive and sticks out
somewhat. The others are not very noticeable to the uninitiated. p.s., Ferguson quit making the 30 after 1954. Serial numbers and
years are in a link on the left column here.
