a boom pole becomes a BEL

are the pins in the bucket right or should I reverse them so I can use stabilizer bars ?

Put the stabilizer bar on first then lift arm. Your pins are OK. On some equipment I put the bars on with end off tractor. After you have lift arms and middle link on raise equipment and then connect end to tractor. You will probably have to do this with dirt scoop.
 
Sure gotta be careful with that setup. Moving the load that far out - that boom is just a huge lever! Some might say to add weight to the front, but too many times that's a recipe that can break the frame in half.

If it were me, I would have preferred to use ground wheels, and raise/lower the scoop using hydraulics. Could still have it on the boom for lifting empty, which would also give it more potential, I think.
 
the scoop is not that heavy and it was way up only for the photo. even with the bucket loaded with dirt the front wheels stayed firmly planted on the ground.
 
you could try turning the bolts around,
my scooper has the pins sticking out (Ford 307)
I like to use stabilizer bars especially when I am backing into a load, as the arms go instantly to the left or right as soon as you hit the dirt pile.
you could break a check chain or something worst with out them.

also when you are loaded and moving over rough ground a stabilizer bar keeps the load from moving around and again making it hard on the check chains.
do not always use one when digging in the forward position.

I know its not a front end loader but a lot of dirt and gravel can be moved with one of these compared to a shovel.

Back in the 50's I bought a new scoop just like that red one. $96 Used it to build a couple small ponds and rearrange the lawn around the house.Used it on a 1951 Ford 8N
