Now onwards to the Zenith Carby

On the back of my Zenith Carb the choke rode is broken off, I knew that cause it is missing out of the dash.
But can any one enlighten me as to this connection. It seems to be the only part of the carb that moves freely.

The rest of the carb is much as expected, the needle and seat are stuck together, the float is jammed by crud and the jets are blocked.

I checked my daily TEA-20 and the parts you are concerned with are NOT on the Carb. Same for my Two spare Carbs. as well as my Spare Engine:

My thoughts are, the parts you are concerned with, would POSITION the Throttle when the CHOKE was applied...?

I have Owned and operated my TEA-20 since 1974 and have never missed the parts you are concerned with:

Thank you Bob, I can go ahead with ordering some seals and reassemble the carb. Since your works without that connection rod Im sure this one will too.

The choke lever looks like it broken off, maybe the other hole has been drilled to attach the choke lever. As for the metal rod with a bend in it connecting to the throttle. This is to open the throttle a bit when you pull the choke. I had one that was missing, made one out of some fence wire.

I had no choke lever as mine was broken like yours. I use to operate the choke by hand at carb while it starting untill i fixed it all. In qld it start fine on just choke.

Thanks for the adjustment on the zenith carb. I'm looking at #34 and what I thought was some kind of drain is an adjustment. My petrol 35 fe's have been a bear to crank with it completely closed.

Good Morning "2tractors" ......# 34 is the "MAIN JET ADJUSTMENT"..

Here's the SERVICE BOOK EXPLANATIOIN:

I have to charge the batteries in both 35's this morning in order to try cranking. There seems to be no resistance like you would get with a spring with the main jet adj.I'm worried that the needle could fall out.I suppose all along they were running off the idle speed jet. Thanks Bob and will let you know the results.

There is NO spring on items # 34 on any of the FOUR CARBS. that I have:

The NEEDLE is secured in place by the JAM NUT on the NEEDLE housing. The Jam Nut keeps the PACKING secured around the NEEDLE SHAFT:

The Needle is attached directly to the THUMB adjuster on the end of the NEEDLE:

My jam nuts are missing.Had they been there maybe I woulda realized what they were. Well one 35 has a carb problem as once opened to correct adj. gas runs continuous and the other cranked and ran just fine. Thinking either a float level problem or trash under main jet.

Just looked back at the parts breakdown and realized I'm confusing p/n 36 with 34. Don't think the zenith 38G has a 36 in that configuration. Main jet looks more like any other with spring. My bad
