TO35 Battery Change

OK, so after 20 plus years on my 6V DECA battery, it would no longer hold a charge so I purchased a new Interstate 6volt battery. It doesn't appesr to be charging. My question: does the generator have to be re polorized when replacing a new battery and how? ----

Just wanted to be sure I read your post correctly,
Did you mean u got 20 + years of service out of your old battery??????

If so I would not turn that one in, the battery companies will be sure it's destroyed, that would ruin their business if batteries today last that long,

Am sure you heard some of the old stories of tinkers in their garage building a carburetor that would get very high mileage, car companies buy it up so it's never produced, probably old wife's tale,

Polarizing a 6v pos grnd is diff from polarizing a 12 v neg grnd.

Yes Maxwell, you read correct, 20 years. I bought it at Napa, then added VX-6 Battery additive (Anti-Sulfation Product) from JC Whitney/Chicago. Just trickle charged it every year.
