The old up side down cotter key that was in the clutch housing drain hole has been ripped and drug over so many times that it has finally given up the ghost,

Is there any way to insert a new cotter key into this drain hole without taking the tractor apart????

I do check the drain hole from time to time, but I forget,
I just like to see the cotter key hanging down there doing its job,

It's worth a try,
13 year old grandson was here the other day should have try to replace it when he could have help me,
Was thinking I might be able to run a wire up in the weep hole over to the the inspection hole, attach cotter key to the wire then pull it back down and through the hole,

One day I am going to get on that project

Another solution was to drill out the weep hole larger, run small rubber hose up into inspection hole, then stick cotter key into end of hose, pull it through, no matter the solution it appears getting the legs of the cotter key and the material used to deliver the key to the hole both through the hole is going to be the problem

Maybe I am over thinking this problem, it's under the tractor and I just forget about it, then it comes up again but place it on the back burner as I just stick a small screwdriver up in the hole to be sure it's open and I am done,

I found a cotter key that was just barely too bid for the hole then forced it through with some light taps with a hammer. It has stayed in for the last 2-3 months. Not sure if it will long term, but working so far.

If you had to tap it into place I am guessing that is doing more harm than good. That pin needs to be able to wiggle around in the hole NOT be tight. Sounds as you should use 1 size in diameter smaller so it can move around and spread the ends out.
