Te 20 missing under load

Take a look at the point setting, check out the distributor shaft bushing. If there is side play in the shaft, the points can't be properly set.

Check the spark quality at the plugs. Should have a hot blue spark that will jump 1/4 inch. Make sure the coil is producing a good spark, should jump 1/2" at the coil. Is the coil correct for the system voltage?

How is the fuel mixture? Does a partial choke help? If so, it is too lean. Could be starved for fuel, or the mixture set too lean.

Does a partial choke make it worse? If so, there is plenty of fuel. If black smoke,(without choke) it is too rich. How is the air cleaner? There is a wire mesh inside the canister above the oil bowl. It is often overlooked.

Air cleaner and carburetor seem to be set right but your talking about a bushing in the distributor changing the points setting I had them set at what my book says I believe fifteen thousands the coil I believe is right it has been converted to a 12 v system with a resister befor the coil it doesn't bother going on flat ground but up a hill it really starts to miss

With new parts, it might need to be re-timed, and i time 'by ear' someone sitting at the throttle, while i turn the cap to find that 'sweet spot' when you get all the power she got, yet idles as slow as they usually- can, and start -shut off good. Takes a few minutes, but worth it.
