fuel leak at tank 57 to35

Hi all...i put a new sediment bowl on my fergie and it leaked. So i took it off, cleaned the threads and gooped some gasket sealer on it let it cure overnight and it still leaks!!! What now?

Look very carefully where it is leaking.

Is it leaking around the threads?
If so, try wrapping several rounds of teflon tape around the fitting. Be sure to wrap it the direction the fitting will turn when screwing it in so the tape will follow the threads into the hole.

Look the new valve over carefully. Everything new is aftermarket. There may be quality issues with the new valve.

Look immediately around the perimeter of the fitting, where it welds into the tank.
If leaking around the weld, the tank is probably rusting out. If the tank is leaking, it can be taken off and repaired, sealed internally, or replaced. New aftermarket tanks are available, but be forewarned, they are aftermarket and may not be an exact fit.

I have replaced a number of these cheap fuel cut off valves over the years on my 1957 TO35
I bought my last one from the local MF dealer, it may still be an off shore unit, but it has last longer than the ones I bought at local auto parts
stores,
I cut my fuel off each day or if the tractor set for any length of time, because sometimes it does leak, just never know when, good insurance,

If you do use a teflon tape for sealant, just be sure it's resistant to gasoline, I am not sure all teflon tape is, last thing you need is that tape
dissolving and getting into your fuel lines,

"Just be sure"

Thanks for info will look closer at tank bung to make sure its not the tank...it didn't leak till i removed the bowl to change out old bowl that was leaking.
